Yes, they do! In raw feeding, heart is actually considered muscle meat, not organ, and is some of the most nutrient dense muscle meat available. The heart, while serving a function within the body, is not a secreting organ (like kidney or liver) and actually is made up of striated muscle cells. It’s full of important amino acids, vitamins and minerals and one of our favorite inclusions in our recipes. Our Beef recipes are comprised mostly of heart for the muscle content but there is still some other muscle meat included in the whole meat/bone cuts we use for the rest of the recipe.
Because of the higher heart content, these recipes can be a bit rich for pets new to our foods. A slower transition might be a good idea for more sensitive pets.
